Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Arizona Offering Up To Five Affordable Care Act Plans For 2017
PHOENIX, Oct. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) will offer up to five different individual and family Affordable Care Act (ACA) plans, including EverydayHealth, Portfolio and SimpleHealth, to those looking for coverage in 2017. Starting Tuesday, Arizonans can shop for medical coverage on the health insurance marketplace at healthcare.gov.
Open enrollment runs from November 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017.
Members who enroll in BCBSAZ plans must use their primary care provider to coordinate their care. "This ensures members get the most efficient treatment possible, avoid out-of-network charges and receive more consistent advice," said Jeff Stelnik, senior vice president. The plans include preventive care services to help families stay healthy and avoid costly conditions if they are not caught early. "The goal is to encourage people to get regular health screenings, avoid hospital admissions and achieve good health," he continued.
BCBSAZ will offer its ACA plans in 14 of Arizona's 15 counties. To help find the right plan, Arizonans should consider contacting a local broker or seek assistance from Cover Arizona at coveraz.org.
