Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Reports 22nd Year of Positive Performance
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 13, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- At Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida's (BCBSF) annual policyholders' meeting today, Chris Doerr, executive vice president, chief administrative officer and chief financial officer, reported that 2010 marked the company's 22nd consecutive year of positive performance and increased membership.
"This success is the result of our implementation of new strategies for our marketing, delivery and distribution processes, the expansion of our portfolio of products and services and the strengthening of our strong community presence in select geographical areas around the state," Doerr said.
Doerr added that over the past year, the company has continued to build its suite of innovative consumer-driven retail products and services, including the introduction of tools designed to promote healthier lifestyles and help Floridians become better- informed health care consumers.
Other activity announced today included the election of Patrick J. Geraghty as Chairman of the Board, while Leerie T. Jenkins, Jr. and John B. Ramil were elected to the Board of Directors. All three will serve three-year terms.
