Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Lets You Vote on Which Non-Profits Get Funding

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 1, 2011  /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. (BCBSF) is launching a new social media initiative called "The Pursuit". This new social media program gives visitors to BCBSF's Facebook page the opportunity to vote on a monthly basis for one of three featured non-profit organizations that the company is supporting through BCBSF's philanthropic efforts.

The Pursuit effort runs throughout the year. This month BCBSF asks Floridians to vote for: Florida's Vision Quest, Daniel, Inc. Florida Hospices and Palliative Care on 'The Pursuit' tab on the BCBSF Facebook page.  The organization with the most votes by the end of the month receives $3,000 – the two runners- up $1,000 each. 

Visitors to the BCBSF Facebook page can vote once a day throughout the month, and track the results of the non-profit organizations. To learn more about the featured non-profits, their site links are on the BCBSF Facebook wall.

Each month, three new non-profit organizations will be featured. Visitors can support their favorite non-profit organizations through the BCBSF Facebook page. Visitors are also encouraged to share the non-profit information with their social communities and post comments on their experience with the non-profits.
