LOS ANGELES, June 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DWELL ON DESIGN, LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER -- Blu® Homes, Inc. Located on a hillside lot in Agoura Hills, the luxurious 2,900 square-foot Breezehouse with separate 24' Pod, which can be used as a guesthouse, yoga room, or home office, will have four bedrooms, four bathrooms and attached garage. When finished later this year, the home will be open for private tours by appointment and public open house events hosted by Blu Homes.
With this L.A. model home, Blu has updated the standard Breezehouse design to appeal specifically to the Southern California homebuyer. In addition to the floor-to-ceiling fenestration, soaring ceilings and open floorplan for which this modern prefab icon is known, guests will find larger bedrooms with walk-in closets, a 5' x 5' walk-in shower in the master bath, folding Nanawalls on either side of the Breezespace and expanded storage, including a walk-in pantry. Plus, by making some additional modifications to the floor plan, Blu was able to create a larger, grander central Breezespace.
"This Breezehouse has been customized specifically for the Southern California lifestyle based on what local homebuyers told us they are looking for most in a home," explained Bill Haney, Blu Homes' founder and president. "When it opens for tours, this home will express the best in luxurious Southern California living: beautiful modern design with a seamless indoor-outdoor connection, grand spaces and expansive decking for year-round entertaining and generous storage and closet space for the stand-up paddleboards, bikes, and other outdoor gear essential to making the most of life in Southern California."
All Blu Homes are LEED Silver certifiable and are solar-ready. Beyond the standard green features that Blu includes in every home, such as recycled steel framing, radiant heat flooring, high R-value walls and energy-efficient appliances, Blu Homes can achieve net zero energy status, Energy Star rating and higher LEED certifications with the inclusion of other available green elements.
Like all Blu homes, the L.A. model Breezehouse will be built in the Company's state-of-the-art California factory, transported by truck, and then "unfolded" on site. Blu Homes' proprietary building technology and steel framing allow its homes to be set on virtually any land site and to withstand extreme seismic, weather, and wind conditions. The Los Angeles model home is the first of many that Blu expects to construct in key markets throughout North America, making it much easier for interested clients to tour a Blu Home.
"To walk through a Blu home is to fall in love with a Blu home," explained Andrew Saint, Blu Homes' L.A.-based western regional sales manager. "I couldn't be more excited to be bringing this luxuriously-finished home to Southern California for all to see. There's nothing like walking through a Blu home to get the full impact of its precision-built quality and beauty. And when customers find out they can have it all in a fraction of the time of building a traditional home, I think they'll be sold."
