Blu® Homes Unveils BluView 3-D Virtual Home Tour at Dwell on Design
Using Oculus Rift 3-D goggles, Dwell on Design attendees can tour a Blu home through BluView's awe-inspiring immersive experience.
VALLEJO, Calif., June 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Blu® Homes, Inc. ("Blu"), North America's leading provider of premium prefab homes, today announced BluView, the first ever immersive 3-D walkthrough home tour experience using the Oculus Rift Virtual Reality goggles. Blu Homes will officially debut its proprietary BluView tool at Dwell on Design, America's largest design event, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 20-22. Dwell on Design attendees will be able to wear the Oculus Rift goggles and audio headsets to tour Blu Homes' latest model, the Breeze Aire. BluView will be available for customers to experience at Blu design centers, located in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, beginning in July.
The Oculus Rift, a new virtual reality headset, is most often used in the online gaming world, allowing users to step inside their favorite games and completely immerse themselves in the virtual world. Blu Homes is the first homebuilder to harness this technology to help customers visualize their new home design, inside and out.
After donning Oculus Rift Virtual Reality goggles, users will be fully immersed in the BluView experience. BluView users can lounge next to the swimming pool or explore the outdoor spaces around the Breeze Aire. Then, they can walk into the Breeze Aire, exploring its lofty ceilings and wide expanses of glass, or leaning in to look at finish details in its thoughtfully appointed kitchen, baths, bedrooms, and common rooms.
"We're thrilled to debut this new technology at Dwell on Design this year. BluView takes our virtual home experience to a new level, allowing our customers to feel as if they are actually inside a Blu home, without the distraction of the outside world," noted Maura McCarthy, Blu Homes Co-Founder and Vice President of Market Development. "The home has been rendered at such high quality that it's a truly transporting experience. BluView is yet another example of how Blu is adapting the latest technology in a thoughtful way to help our customers design their homes."
BluView is available to test drive at Blu Homes' booth 1555 at Dwell on Design, and at Blu Homes' design centers in Los Angeles and in the Bay Area. Blu Homes Co-Founder and CEO Bill Haney will also be presenting as part of the Mega Prefab Panel at Dwell on Design on Saturday at 4 pm.
BluView is the latest addition to Blu's suite of powerful online tools that use proprietary technology to make the homebuilding process both more enjoyable and streamlined. Other Blu tools include the Blu Budget Builder, conceptual design process tool and the Blu Homes 3-D Configurator.
