Bloomberg Television Correspondent Stephanie Ruhle to Serve as Emcee at Tenth Annual Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation Dinner
NEW YORK, March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation, a scholarship program that has provided $2.3 million in college scholarships to 96 children of firefighters and victims of the September 11 attacks as well as other U.S. disasters, today announced that Stephanie Ruhle, a correspondent for Bloomberg Television, has agreed to serve as the Master of Ceremonies at the Foundation's tenth annual dinner. The event is scheduled to be held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Pier 60 at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.
The Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation began in response to a terrible tragedy – the loss of Michael Lynch, a son, brother, fiance, uncle and New York City firefighter who sacrificed his own life on September 11 in an effort to save others. Facing the ultimate loss, the Lynch family saw an opportunity to help finance the education of young people as a living tribute to the human spirit and the family's collective resolve to respond to adversity with courage, strength, compassion and hope. The goal of the Foundation is to provide the means to help change the world, one person at a time, by helping the students of today become tomorrow's stewards of peace and freedom.
Ruhle serves as part of Bloomberg Television's morning team on "Inside Track," the weekday program airing from 6-8 am ET that provides a global, focused, in-depth look at the top business and economic news of the day. As part of her role, Ruhle regularly interviews top business leaders and investors.
Prior to joining Bloomberg, Ruhle served as a Managing Director in Global Markets Senior Relationship Management at Deutsche Bank. She plays an active role in women's leadership and business leader development. She founded the Corporate Investment Bank (CIB) Women's Network and co-chaired the Women on Wall Street (WOWS) steering committee. Ruhle is also a member of the board of trustees for Girls Inc. New York and the I-Mentor Corporate Advisory Board. She is a member of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, The Women's Bond Club and a member of the corporate council of the White House Project, a not-for-profit organization working to advance women in business, government and media. She also serves on the board and advises for "React To Film," an issue-based documentary film series. Ruhle is a graduate of Lehigh University.
"We are very pleased that Stephanie Ruhle has agreed to serve as the emcee of the upcoming Lynch Foundation annual dinner," said Jonathan Henes, a restructuring partner at Kirkland & Ellis who serves on the Board of Directors of the Michael Lynch Memorial Foundation. "Her participation, along with Henry Miller's involvement as Honorary Chair and a special performance by pop music star Missy Modell, will help to make this year's event another great success. We are grateful for the continued outpouring of support for this worthy cause by the business community."
