Bloomberg Launches Daybreak Morning News Service for Terminal Subscribers
Daily News Briefing Can Be Customized Based on Portfolio, Geography and Sectors;
Includes Five Minute Audio Version
NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bloomberg today officially launched Bloomberg Daybreak, the company's new customized morning news service for global financial professionals that can be personalized based on a customer's portfolio, region and sector of interest to get them the most relevant news as quickly as possible. With a focus on market and financial news, Daybreak is a morning brief that rapidly informs Bloomberg Terminal customers about world events and gives perspective on how to think about the business day ahead.
"We've rethought the newspaper, harnessed Bloomberg's global editorial and technological resources, and created a one-stop mobile product that can be customized to monitor news about portfolios, regions and sectors," said Bloomberg Editor in Chief John Micklethwait. "You don't need to read anything else in the morning to be ready for work, and it takes less than 10 minutes to read or listen to."
"Most global financial professionals begin their day with a mobile device, and we designed Daybreak as a mobile-first experience to bring readers up to speed as soon as they wake up," said Chris Collins, Bloomberg senior executive editor for breaking news.
Delivered digitally at 5:30am Monday through Friday from New York, London and Hong Kong, each day's edition is divided into 4 sections: "Need to know" news to summarize the biggest news of the day, "My Topics" which allows readers to select news from 11 industries and regions, "My Tickers" that provides headlines on companies in users' portfolios, and the "Nice to Know" section that touches on lighter fare news, from sports and entertainment to science.
For subscribers who prefer audio, Daybreak includes a five-minute podcast version that is embedded daily.
Bloomberg editors Matthew G. Miller and Peter Newcomb lead the global editorial team which leverages the work of more than 2,600 journalists and analysts in more than 120 countries.
Subscribers to Bloomberg Anywhere can access Daybreak via the app on the iPhone, iPad and Android platforms, including wearable devices, under the "News" button.
Bloomberg Daybreak is also on the Bloomberg Terminal at DAYB <go>.
