BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BlogFrog, (www.theblogfrog.com) the industry leader for influencer marketing technology, today announced it has received the Forrester Groundswell Award in the Business-to-Consumer Social Impact category. The fast-growing start-up was recognized by Forrester Research Inc. for the Million Moms Challenge campaign, a joint effort by ABC News and the United Nations Foundation (UNF) that generated more than 30 million social media impressions and connected thousands of moms in the U.S. with moms in developing countries. Using the BlogFrog platform, thousands of meaningful and supportive conversations have been initiated on issues concerning pregnancy, childbirth and children's health. By sharing content across all social networks, the campaign dramatically raised awareness and funds to help women and children everywhere survive and thrive.

"The Million Moms Challenge is a great example of the positive impact social media can have on the lives of people, regardless of location and perceived differences," said Holly Hamann, co-founder and CMO for BlogFrog. "It is very rewarding to receive this recognition from Forrester Research for how our Influencer Marketing platform helped such a meaningful and successful social media campaign."
ABC News and the United Nations Foundation partnered with BlogFrog to identify and activate hundreds of social influencers whose values were aligned with the Million Moms Challenge program. BlogFrog helped identify more than 800 influencers around the world who created and posted content through its Influencer Marketing platform, as well as on individual blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social networks. The campaign greatly exceeded its goal of reaching more than one million moms, and even sparked a rally in Times Square which was covered by Good Morning America. Top-level results included 15.3 million blog readers reached, more than 31.2 million total social media impressions and more than 15,000 mom sign-ups in the first two weeks.
"Once again this year we received many outstanding entries for the Forrester Groundswell Awards," said Nate Elliott, Forrester vice president and principal analyst. "It's clear that social media has reached a tipping point, where savvy companies are using social tools to pursue real business objectives rather than simply chasing fans and followers. The 2012 winners put social programs to practical use in their organizations - successfully marketing their wares, supporting their customers, and generating insights."
The Forrester Groundswell Awards recognize excellence in achieving business and organizational goals with social media applications. The awards program was developed to support and recognize the principles outlined in the Forrester Research books Groundswell: Winning In a World Transformed by Social Technologies (Harvard Business Press, 2008) and Empowered: Unleash Your Employees, Energize Your Customers, and Transform Your Business (Harvard Business Press, 2010).
