Blocton Elks to Start Blocton Books

CHICAGO, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- With some help from the Elks National Foundation, the charitable arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Blocton Elks will purchase classic American, Southern novels for 600 students. They will then organize and supervise book clubs and study groups revolving around the book.

Blocton Books will be funded by an Impact Grant awarded to the Blocton Elks by the Elks National Foundation. Impact Grants are the newest addition to the Elks National Foundation's Community Investments Program. They are competitive grants designed to help Elks make a difference in their community. This year, Blocton Elks Lodge No. 710 is one of 49 recipients nationwide to receive an Impact Grant. The grants range from $2,500 to $10,000.
