Blistex Acquires U.S. and Global ODOR-EATERS Brand

OAK BROOK, Ill., Jan. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- In a move to extend its presence in the broader personal care arena, Blistex Inc. today announced that it has completed the acquisition of the ODOR-EATERS® line of foot care products from Combe Incorporated.  The territories covered by the transaction include the United States and the more than 30 international markets that have been serviced by Combe.  Terms of the deal between the two privately-held companies were not disclosed.

The ODOR-EATERS brand was launched in 1974 with the first shoe insole for odor and wetness, which was also the first one-size-fits-all design.  This initial market entry eventually evolved into what is now the #1 U.S. and global brand in the odor and wetness segment of the foot care category.  ODOR-EATERS products currently include insoles, powders and sprays, all with uniquely effective formulas.
