Media technology veteran joins blinkx as Senior Vice President of Product to drive product strategy and execution

In his new role, Wheeler will be responsible for product strategy across blinkx, leading all product and technology teams to create a unified product vision, direction and management process.

Trent has been a Silicon Valley professional and technology innovator for over a decade. He has a wide and varied skill set, and has built products ranging from mobile consumer applications, to consumer and business video and advertising products, to enterprise software development tools. Most recently, Trent worked at Rovi (NASDAQ: ROVI), formerly known as Macrovision, a global leader in the content discovery, video delivery and advertising solution space. There, he was responsible for video and consumer electronics products, including Rovi's TotalGuide, an innovative video discovery solution to help users find video across cable, internet, satellite, and other channels. Trent also ran DivX, Sidereel, MainConcept, and many other leading video technology brands while at Rovi.
Trent earned a B.A. in Economics and Religious Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
