LOS ANGELES, May 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles-based financial close software provider BlackLine Systems took the No. 19 spot on the 2013 list of the '50 Fastest-Growing Women-Owned/Led Companies in North America,' as ranked by the Women Presidents' Organization and American Express OPEN (the small business division of American Express).

Eligible companies were required to be privately held, woman-owned/led businesses in the United States or Canada and were ranked according to a sales growth formula that combines percentage and absolute growth. From this list, the '50 Fastest' was selected.
Under CEO and founder Therese Tucker's direction, BlackLine revenues were up by more than 50 percent in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and up 60 percent in 2012. During the past several years, many new Fortune 500 companies have signed on to implement the BlackLine Financial Close Suite in a Software-as-a Service (SaaS) environment across their global organizations.
Tucker has been honored by the San Fernando Valley Business Journal as a "Woman of the Decade" for her continuous accomplishments in growing and building the software company. In 2011, BlackLine was named a Red Herring 100 Global Winner – recognizing the company as one of the 'most innovative and promising' tech ventures in the world.
BlackLine also has been named to Software Magazine's annual list of the 500 largest software and service providers in the world for the past two years and to the prestigious Inc. 500/5000 for five years in a row. Most recently, Tucker was honored earlier this year with a '2013 Enterprising Women of the Year Award' from Enterprising Women magazine.
A recognized leader and inspiration for young entrepreneurs and other women looking to excel in business, Tucker has been invited to speak to accounting and business students at leading U.S. universities including Harvard Business School and New York University's Stern School of Management.
