LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise financial software company BlackLine Systems was honored last week as one of the 'Best Places to Work in Los Angeles' for the second year in a row. Recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal (LABJ) and Best Companies Group for being "successful in business and in nurturing its own," BlackLine took the No. 26 spot on the list of medium-sized companies in the region. As LABJ's editors succinctly put it, "The Best Places to Work in Los Angeles is an annual celebration of elite employers who have proven that they know what it takes to create environments where people love to come to work."
Best Companies Group was responsible for the survey and analysis process for the Best Places to Work 2014 Los Angeles program, ranking local companies across eight key management categories: Leadership and Planning, Corporate Culture and Communication, Role Satisfaction, Work Environment, Relationship with Supervisor, Training, Development and Resources, Pay and Benefits and Overall Engagement. BlackLine achieved a nearly 90 percent or higher positive score in each category – with its overall ranking well into the 90th percentile.
At the root of BlackLine's culture is a simple mission statement: "Think. Create. Serve." The Best Companies survey overwhelmingly showed that BlackLine employees in all regions around the world are happy in their jobs and proud to fulfill this mission. Some key outcomes from the survey include:
- 95 percent of employees say they are proud to work at BlackLine
- 92 percent feel a spirit of cooperation at the company
- 93 percent say they have fun at work
- 90 percent feel valued
- 93 percent respect and have a good relationship with their supervisor
- 90 percent say quality is a top priority across the organization
The survey also showed that BlackLine employees are proud of the many ways the BlackLine Financial Close Suite helps lighten the month-end accounting burden for clients.
Under CEO and Founder Therese Tucker's direction, BlackLine revenues have increased more than 50 percent annually on a consistent basis and are on pace to grow by at least that much in 2014, with revenues up nearly 60 percent in the first half of 2014 compared to the same period last year. BlackLine also has quadrupled its head count in the last few years, adding many jobs in Los Angeles, as well as in London and Sydney, as the company continues on its fast-growth trajectory. BlackLine's accomplishment is even more impressive considering the constant climate of growth and change in the past few years.
The eighth annual Best Places to Work in Los Angeles awards celebration was hosted by the Los Angeles Business Journal at the JW Marriott at L.A. Live on Aug. 19th. The complete list, along with Best Companies' description outlining the analytical process and criteria utilized to determine the 'Top 100', can be found in a special supplement running in the Monday, Aug. 25th, issue of the LABJ.
