Meeting Workplace Goals: Bellevue University's Skills to Performance Model: Chad Kainz, Director of Solutions at Blackboard Inc., and Ed Jarecki, Assistant Vice President at Bellevue University, will discuss the university's Skills to Performance program - a unique model focused on higher order skills that translate to success in industry. Attendees will learn how Bellevue and Blackboard have partnered to differentiate the learning experience to connect more tightly with the skills that workforce partners value. Learning at Scale with Analytics: Findings from the Field and Open Questions: Higher education is experiencing an explosion of interest in using new data sources, applying analytical techniques, and expanding access to data visualizations/analysis. During this panel, campus leaders and solution providers will discuss lessons learned from both creating and implementing learning analytics systems and the big questions remaining. Speakers include John Whitmer, Director for Analytics and Research at Blackboard Inc.; Alfred Essa, Vice President of Analytics and R&D at McGraw-Hill Education; Michael Feldstein, Partner at MindWires Consulting; Russ Little, Chief Innovation Officer at Hobsons; and Jeff Gold, Assistant Vice Chancellor at California State University. Only Blackboard: Innovation to Drive Student Success through the LMS and Beyond: Brook Bock, Vice President of Mobile at Blackboard Inc. and Mike Sharkey, Vice President of Analytics at Blackboard Inc. will share how institutions can leverage new advancements across the Blackboard Learn product, including predictive analytics and mobile technologies, to further promote student success. IBM Watson: Building a World Class Ecosystem for Higher Education: IBM's cognitive platform Watson represents the new paradigm in the computing era. It is fundamentally transforming industries and their daily operations, including higher education. This session will explore the possibilities of Watson in higher ed and early use cases, and share the latest thinking on industry strategy to adopt and leverage Watson. Speakers include Katie Blot, Chief Strategy Officer at Blackboard Inc.; Michael King, Vice President of Global Education Industry at IBM; and Douglas Hunt, Watson Global Education Leader at IBM.
