Blackboard Launches Mobile Education Platform in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Blackboard Inc. (Nasdaq: BBBB) announced today the launch of  Blackboard Mobile™ in Mexico and Latin America, bringing students the ability to access a rich set of campus services and content when they want, where they want, with their smartphone or Web-enabled cell phone.

The Blackboard Mobile platform allows schools, colleges and universities to provide a mobile application for students and the whole educational community to access course catalogs and campus maps, e-mail professors and classmates, and receive real time updates on course schedules, campus events, news and sports directly on their mobile devices.

The Blackboard Mobile platform enriches the educational experience and supports the new lifestyle of students by allowing them to have access to a full range of school services in their pocket. Blackboard Mobile's flagship application, Mobile Central™, is now available in Spanish with optimized applications for the Apple® iPod Touch®, iPhone® and BlackBerry® devices although it is also available to users of any Web-enabled cell phone.
