RESTON, Va., July 21, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Blackboard Inc. today announced the availability of the Reporting Tier for the Blackboard Data platform, which will give institutions access to reports designed to provide insights on use of learning tools within the Blackboard SaaS EdTech ecosystem. This announcement was made during BbWorld20, Blackboard's annual premier global conference that brings together educators, administrators and thought leaders, held virtually this year on July 21 and 22.
The Reporting Tier provides clients access to robust pre-built usage and adoption reporting on the LMS and other licensed Blackboard SaaS products. The first available report will answer key questions on the utilization and adoption of the Blackboard Collaborate Ultra virtual classroom solution with additional reports for other products to follow. Beginning today, the reports are available at no additional cost for eligible clients using Blackboard Learn SaaS.
"The global education community has long relied on data and evidence to influence practices and policies, but as institutions manage through rapid digital transformation, there is a new need to adapt to both sourcing and applying that evidence in a fully-online learning environment," said Rachel Scherer, Senior Director of Data & Analytics at Blackboard. "This need is here to stay, and it invites us to develop a totally different, more intuitive relationship with data as a tool supporting how we learn and teach—with a focus on data democratization. The Reporting Tier represents a waypoint to our continued innovation in this direction through the Blackboard Data platform."
Historically, data or information access is often a siloed function in an educational organization. Interpretation and actionability are hindered by complex practices for organizing, exposing, and presenting information that comes from highly differentiated experiences that institutions create. As a result, decision-makers may not have clear and credible access to the information they need to be nimble in the face of rapid change. The Blackboard Data platform helps by bringing together data sources across the education ecosystem into one comprehensive view and surfacing the data in a digestible way to help leaders, teachers, learners, and other stakeholders make more informed decisions to drive institutional and student success.
Blackboard also introduced today the Blackboard Data Insider Program, which provides eligible clients with early access to new features and functionality inside the Blackboard Data user interface, starting with the Collaborate Ultra Adoption Report, and in the future will include demos and previews of upcoming Blackboard Data products. Clients leveraging Blackboard Data that would like to join the program can visit https://help.blackboard.com/Blackboard_Data/Administrator/Insider_Program for more information.
