Blackbird delivers on its commitment to the community with free auditing products for VMware and Active Directory
NEW YORK, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today the Blackbird Group announced exciting new additions to its award-winning portfolio of Windows auditing, compliance, automation and reporting products. Blackbird Privilege Identity Auditor is a free community offering that provides central user authentication auditing across the Windows environment including logins, failed logins and last logons. Blackbird Last Logon Reporter, also a free community application, installs in minutes and enables administrators to calculate the true last logon of users and computers as required by many compliance mandates.
These new products will complement Blackbird's upcoming free modules, which are currently in beta release and will be available for download next month. Blackbird Auditor for Office 365 and Blackbird Auditor for Google Apps provide a central audit database for reporting and alerting on all configuration changes and user activity within these cloud-based applications. Recognizing the challenges for organizations embracing virtualization strategies, Blackbird Auditor for VMware provides central auditing and logging for VMware virtual environments, allowing IT managers to track the who, what, where and when of changes made to virtual machines and configurations.
"Blackbird recognized the need for lightweight, easily available software for real-time tracking and auditing of Active Directory, VMware environments and cloud apps," said Christian Ehrenthal, Blackbird's CEO. "That's why we've developed our new collection of free community products. They will be a big help to organizations that need to track logins for both security and compliance mandates. This includes section 8.5.5 of the PCI-DSS 2.0 compliance mandate, which requires the verification of inactive accounts that are either old or disabled."
