Black Women to Discuss Voting Rights, Workers Rights & Justice for Trayvon Martin During Town Hall Meeting & Rally

WASHINGTON, March 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Black Women's Roundtable (BWR) "Power of the Sister Vote" Town Hall Meeting & Rally will engage an intergenerational panel and audience in a conversation about what women want for their vote in the 2012 Election Cycle.  The discussion will include issues important to women including: the war on women's health, attack on workers' rights, and voting rights.  The Town Hall will also demonstrate the powerful role Black women play in leading successful advocacy, mobilization and voter protection efforts in national, state and local elections.  We will have a special focus on racial profiling, calling for justice in the recent fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in Florida.

The BWR Town Hall Meeting & Rally is part of the BWR National Women of Power Summit, "Amplifying the Voices of Women and Girls in 2012 and Beyond."  The BWR Summit brings together local and national faith, political, civic and labor leaders, health experts, and financial advisors with the local community.
