Black Stallion Estate Winery Debuts Transcendent Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
NAPA, Calif., Sept. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Black Stallion Estate Winery is proud to announce the inaugural release of Transcendent Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a luxury showcase of the winery's site-specific winemaking philosophy. Featuring a master blend of the vintage's top vineyard lots from Napa Valley's most prestigious appellations, the debut of this limited production, reserve 2010 offering establishes a new benchmark for Black Stallion Estate Winery.
"Transcendent is the fulfillment of our family's dream to craft a legendary Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley," said Chris Indelicato, CEO and president of Black Stallion Estate Winery. "This cellar-worthy wine is the ultimate expression of quality, terroir and character, and celebrates years of dedication in the vineyard and cellar."
Winemaker, David Ostheimer crafted the inaugural vintage of Transcendent. From the mountain elevations and volcanic soils of Mount Veeder, Atlas Peak and Howell Mountain, to respected valley floor locations, Oakville and Oak Knoll District, Ostheimer hand-selected exceptional fruit expressive of Napa Valley's best. In some cases, this amounted to individual lots as small as a single row within a single vineyard block. All grapes identified for Transcendent consideration were hand-harvested and fermented separately. Months of meticulous blind tasting evaluations of more than 30 individual lots ultimately determined the final blend for Transcendent, which also received a combination of extended barrel and bottle age for full flavor development.
Black Stallion Estate Winery's 2010 Transcendent ($135) released to select markets in July. A blend of 89 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 11 percent Merlot, Transcendent is a culmination of experience in the vineyard, patience in the cellar and an unwavering commitment to delivering a world-class Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley.
