Black Hawks Dun Glen Report Indicates Large-Tonnage High-Grade Gold-bearing Vein
FOX ISLAND, Wash., Jan. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Black Hawk Exploration (OTC Bulletin Board: BHWX), Dun Glen 2011 Summary Report indicates large-tonnage, open pit gold target encompassing a 12,000 foot long, high-grade gold-bearing vein corridor. Dun Glen is a BHWX gold and silver exploration project in the Sierra Mining District and encompasses a 12,000 foot long, high-grade gold-bearing vein corridor that is surrounded by a large zone of anomalous gold in rocks and soils estimated by 3rd parties to exceed 2,000,000 ounces. The district includes extensive historic placer and underground vein mines.
Geological, geochemical, and geophysical data combined with previous comprehensive drilling indicate that there is a large-tonnage, open pit gold target where two north-south trending, gold-bearing structural corridors intersect the sedimentary rock contact with the Koipato Group. The Dun Glen Project/Pershing County Nevada-A Summary Report of Recent Geology, Geochemistry, Geophysics, and Drilling Results defines these features as the Monroe-White Rock Zone and the Auld Lang Syne Zones. The majority of the historic gold and silver production came from the Monroe, Golden Bell, and Black Hole Mines along the sediment/Koipato contact.
Historically the Dun Glen District covered by the Black Hawk land position has been explored as a vein district. The early exploration programs were, almost exclusively, directed towards expanding the vein related mineralization. Exploration efforts suggested a much larger scale gold target than the veins might provide, however no individual company collected and compiled all the pieces of the information which outlined that concept until Black Hawk commissioned the current evaluation.
