The company sustained its over 30 percent average annual growth and reported 32 percent new business growth, reflecting the importance of the Black Duck® Suite in these and other markets.

Third quarter 2012 milestones include:
- The addition of 57 new customers to the company's base of more than 1,000 enterprises around the world. New customers include Bolder Thinking, CompuPay, Fiberlink Communications, Quorum, Rackspace, Renesas Electronics Corporation, Roper Industries and Visteon Corporation, demonstrating strong growth in automotive and financial services.
- Significant updates to Ohloh.net, including licensing Ohloh data under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license. In addition, Black Duck announced the availability of a public beta version of its powerful new open source code search engine, Ohloh Code.
- The addition of 17 new employees, primarily in engineering and professional services, bringing Black Duck's total number of employees to more than 190.
