B.J. Lawson Signs $1 Million Term Limit Pledge with Alliance for Bonded Term Limits

Lawson Becomes Part of Revolutionary Group of Candidates Who Promise to Put the Voting Public and Country First – Or Pay  

RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- William (B.J.) Lawson, MD, Republican challenger to Rep. David Price in North Carolina's Fourth District, today announced his pledge that he will not serve more than four two-year terms if elected to U.S. Congress.  As part of this effort, Dr. Lawson is pledging $1 million of his personal net worth to the Sentinels of Freedom charitable organization to guarantee his promise to the voters. Incumbent Rep. Price, 70, has already held this office for 22 years and is seeking his 12th term.

Candidates who sign a bonded term limits pledge do so to demonstrate a binding commitment to the voters that their platform and the needs of the American people are more important than any personal need for political longevity and power. The Alliance for Bonded Term Limits (ABTL) is a grassroots, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to seeking candidates for state and national office who will bond their term limit pledges with a promissory note for a credible portion of their personal funds.  Including Lawson, there are currently six political candidates who have made this pledge who advanced from the primary to the general election.
