BizEd Magazine Receives Eleven Industry Awards, Including 2014 Magazine of the Year
TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- BizEd Magazine (BizEd), the world's leading publication within the management education industry, has been named 2014 Magazine of the Year by the Florida Magazine Association (FMA). Along with this distinction, FMA presented five other awards to BizEd, including Best Overall Magazine from the 'Association' category.
Each year, the FMA presents bronze, silver, and 'Charlie' awards in 75 categories in areas of general, editorial, design and printing excellence, and represents the pinnacle of achievement in the Florida magazine publishing industry. The panel of judges which included leading national representatives from the publishing industry, selected BizEd as 2014 Magazine of the Year from a field of nearly 700 entries, based on its effectiveness in fulfilling its mission statement.

In addition to receiving top awards from the FMA, BizEd also received three Tabbie Awards from Trade, Association, and Business Publications International, and two EXCEL Awards from Association Media & Publishing. These five awards, paired with six from FMA, gives BizEd a total of 11 premier industry honors for the 2014 awards season.

Florida Magazine Association Charlie Awards
FMA also presented BizEd with three 'Charlie Awards' for 'Best Overall Magazine' for the 'Association' category, Best Special Theme or Show Issue, and Best Service Feature for "For Profit, For Good" in the November/December 2013 issue. The magazine also received two writing excellence awards: a Silver Award for Best Service Feature for "Attracting the Best Faculty" by Sharon Shinn (September/October 2013), and a Bronze Award for "Light It Up" by Tricia Bisoux (November/December 2013).
Trade, Association, and Business Publications International Tabbie Awards
The 'Tabbie Awards' recognize excellence in editorial content and design in trade, association, and business publications from around the world. Of the more than 450 nominations coming from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Africa, BizEd was awarded three honorable mentions. One for Best Single Issue (November/December 2013), and two for Feature Articles for "Sick About Unethical Business" by Mark D. Promislo and Robert Giacalone (January/February 2013), and "Mission Imperative" by Sharon Shinn (March/April 2013).
Association Media & Publishing EXCEL Awards
Each year, the 'EXCEL Awards' exclusively recognizes excellence and leadership in nonprofit association media, publishing, and communications. With close to 960 entries, representing 110 organizations, BizEd was awarded a Silver Award for Overall General Excellence for the magazine as a whole under the 10,000 or fewer circulation category, and a Bronze Award for a Single Topic Issue for the 10,001 to 20,000 category (November/December 2013).
