TORONTO, Jan. 13, 2014 /CNW/ - Saturday night's series premiere of Space's newest original thriller BITTEN has scratched its way to become the #1 series debut on the channel this broadcast year, gnashing its teeth into 265,000 viewers. The most-watched specialty program of the day for A25-54 and A18-49, the strong debut made Space the #1 entertainment specialty network in its Saturdays at 9 p.m. ET timeslot with total viewers and the key A25-54 and A18-49 demos.
Compared to programs in the 9 p.m. timeslot this broadcast year to date, the premiere episode of BITTEN increased audiences by 79% among A25-54, 98% among A18-49, 43% among total viewers, 95% among F25-54, and a whopping 128% for F18-49. The debut episode "Summons" reached a total of 677,000 viewers.
Viewers can catch up with the BITTEN with encore episodes airing Mondays at 10 p.m. ET, and CTV Two is airing the premiere episode on Friday, Jan. 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

In next week's episode entitled "Prodigal," (Saturday, Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. ET) at Stonehaven, Elena (Laura Vandervoort) tracks the killer Mutt, while avoiding the advances of Clay Danvers (Greyston Holt), her former lover. Haunted by her own past as a killer, Elena is desperate to get back to her human life, but is delayed when a second body is discovered, this time on Stonehaven property.
BITTEN is based on the critically-acclaimed series of novels by Kelley Armstrong, and is executive produced by J.B. Sugar (THE COLLECTOR, JPOD) for No Equal Entertainment, John Barbisan, and Patrick Banister (WHISTLER) for Hoodwink Entertainment, and Tecca Crosby, John Morayniss, and Margaret O'Brien for Entertainment One (eOne). Daegan Fryklind and Grant Rosenberg are Executive Producers and Co-Showrunners. eOne is distributing the series internationally.
