Bishoy A. Gayed, M.D., Urologic Oncologist, Joins Chesapeake Urology Associates
OWINGS MILLS, Md., Nov. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Chesapeake Urology is pleased to announce that urologic oncologist, Bishoy A. Gayed, M.D., has joined the practice. Dr. Gayed sees patients in Chesapeake Urology's office on the campus of Saint Agnes Hospital, located at 3407 Wilkens Avenue in Baltimore.
Dr. Gayed is a urologic oncologist and serves as the director of urologic oncology at Saint Agnes Hospital. He specializes in the treatment and management of kidney, prostate, bladder, ureteral, testicular, penile, and adrenal cancers, including the use of robotics, laparoscopy, focal therapy, and open surgical techniques. He also focuses on urinary diversion (continent and incontinent).
Dr. Gayed employs a team approach to the management of his patients in which multiple physicians discuss the best treatment for the patient. Dr. Gayed believes that the patient is the most important member of the team and making sure they are as informed as possible is critical to achieving optimal results and patient satisfaction.
He received his combined Bachelor of Arts and medical degrees from the University of Missouri, Kansas City and completed a urology research fellowship at the University of Michigan. He completed his clinical internship in general surgery from Vanderbilt Medical Center as well as clinical residencies in general surgery and urology from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Gayed completed his fellowship training in urologic oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He has published over 25 articles, written multiple book chapters, and presented at numerous local and national meetings in the field of urologic oncology.
Dr. Gayed is fluent in English and Arabic and experienced in French.
