Bipartisan Policy Center to Discuss the Structure and Viability of the Presidential Primary System

Curtis Gans will headline this 2012 Election Series event

WASHINGTON, March 7, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) will resume its 2012 Election Series this week, immediately following Super Tuesday, with a discussion of the presidential primary system on Thursday, March 8, 2012.

The event - The Presidential Primary System: How Well Does it Serve American Democracy? - will discuss the latest from the 2012 campaign trail.  At the event, Curtis Gans, the nation's leading expert on voter turnout and the former Director of American University's Center for the Study of the American Electorate, will release his latest report on 2012 primary turnout, including data from Super Tuesday. 

In addition to Gans, the discussion will feature David Norcross, former General Counsel for the Republican National Committee (RNC); The Weekly Standard's Jay Cost; and BPC President Jason Grumet. The discussion will be moderated by John Fortier, Director of BPC's Democracy Project.
