WASHINGTON, Aug. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Hundreds of private-sector experts, elected officials, scholars, and industry leaders will gather at the Bipartisan Policy Center's Housing America's Future: New Directions for National Policy 2014 Housing Summit on September 15 and 16 in Washington, D.C. "The goal of the summit is straightforward – we want to ensure that housing is at the forefront of the Washington policy agenda," said Pamela Patenaude, director of housing policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center. "By discussing and developing practical solutions with the leaders who will shape housing's future, we can find opportunities to address some of our greatest housing challenges."
The housing sector comprises nearly one fifth of the American economy and is a barometer of our nation's overall economic health, predicting and reflecting conditions from the boardroom conference table to the kitchen table. This two-day, multi-track event will provide a deeper understanding of the housing sector, the policy decisions that help shape it, and the implications for our economy.
More speakers currently confirmed to attend include: Standard and Poor's Beth Ann Bovino; Julia Stasch, interim president of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation; Dave Stevens, president of the Mortgage Bankers Association; Scott Simon, former managing director of PIMCO; Edward DeMarco, former FHFA director; Carol Tome, CFO of Home Depot; the Urban Institute's Jim Parrot; and Steven Berkowitz of Move, Inc.
