Bipartisan Policy Center and Seton Healthcare Family to Host "Healthy Ideas Showcase" Policy Conference in Austin
Event will conclude with a Health Innovation Exchange featuring selected Texas-based innovations
WASHINGTON, Oct. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC), in collaboration with Seton Healthcare Family, will host a policy conference, entitled, "Healthy Ideas Showcase: Changing the Way Health Care is Delivered" in Austin, Texas, tomorrow, Friday, October 7, 2011.
The conference will also be webcast live here beginning at 9:00 a.m. CT on October 7.
The day-long event, featuring national and local health care leaders, will highlight significant progress in health professional workforce development and new models of care enabled by health information technology in the state of Texas. Keynote speakers include former Senate Majority Leaders Tom Daschle and Bill Frist, co-chairs of BPC's Health Project, Charles Barnett, president and chief operating officer of Seton Healthcare Family, BPC President Jason Grumet, and Texas State Representatives Mark Strama and John Zerwas.
Following the conference, BPC, Seton Healthcare Family and the Texas e-Health Alliance will host a Health Innovation Exchange to highlight selected Texas-based innovations. These delivery system innovators include: Austin Community College, Children's Optimal Health, CHRISTUS Health, Lone Star Circle of Care, North Texas Specialty Physicians, Seton Healthcare Family, St. David's Foundation, Texas State University, The University of Texas at Austin, the University of Virginia's Center for Health Policy and Via Hope Recovery Institute.
