BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation (BPC), a leader in the collection of source plasma, is pleased to announce the relocation of its Gainesville plasma collection center to 2315 NW 13th Street, Gainesville, Florida. The 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility officially opened its doors for business on Sunday, January 22, 2017.
"The relocation of this facility represents our continued commitment to enhance our donors experience and to secure quality supply of the raw materials needed to help the thousands of patients that rely on plasma based therapies" said Ileana Carlisle, BPC's Chief Executive Officer.
The plasma collected at Biotest Plasma Centers is used to manufacture critical care therapies that treat life threatening disorders in a variety of therapeutic areas.
The Company anticipates that this newly relocated facility will expand its current workforce to over 50 employees and currently has employment opportunities available for medical personnel and phlebotomists.
In addition to supporting the local economy through employment opportunities, the plasma center is actively recruiting local residents to donate plasma. Plasma donors not only contribute the source material for plasma derived therapies but also are compensated for their donations.
