BioSurplus Forms New Division for Auction Services

SAN DIEGO, Calif., July 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BioSurplus announced today the formation of a new division called BioSurplus Auction Services. The company has already held the industry's most successful lab equipment auctions in California: in San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area. With the new division, BioSurplus will now expand its auction services capability nationwide.

The announcement comes on the heels of very successful lab equipment liquidation auctions for Elan Pharmaceuticals, of South San Francisco, ACADIA Pharmaceuticals of San Diego, Roche, and others.

The company is currently holding an auction of Thermo Fisher equipment. This auction ends on July 25th, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. PDT.  A video overview of available items can be viewed here.  A liquidation auction of items from The Neurosciences Institute in San Diego will begin on August 9th, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. PDT.

Spearheading the auction business growth will be veteran biotech marketing executive Fred Hill. Formerly VP of Product Marketing at BioSurplus, his new title will be VP of Auction Services at the company. Fred counts on over 20 years of sales, marketing and business development experience in the biotech industry. He received his BS and masters degrees in chemistry from the University of California at San Diego and an MBA from SDSU.
