Biomet's 2012 Healthcare Revenue to be Fueled by Orthopedic Extremity Sales, 3M, Cadent Dental Partnerships
New Company Analysis Report Series Provides Strategic Insights into Biomet's World-Wide Market Shares, SWOT, Product Pipeline and Financial Analysis
VANCOUVER, Nov. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - According to a new company analysis report series by iData Research (www.idataresearch.net), the leading global authority in medical device market research, small joint replacement sales are expected to drive revenue growth globally for Biomet through 2012. Sports medicine was one of the company's fastest-growing areas in 2011, while spinal surgery and trauma fixation were lagging in growth. The company's recent strategic partnerships are also expected to fuel sales of dental implant, final-abutment and impression sales.
"Sports medicine and small-joint reconstructive surgery were two of the fastest-growing areas for Biomet, both of which continued multi-year trends," says Dr. Douglas Fung, Analyst Manager at iData. "However, spinal surgery and trauma fixation have posed a greater challenge, as the pace of product innovation has been slower in these divisions, increasing the difficulty of gaining market share against larger competitors."
The reports state that, with the exception of spinal implants and trauma fixation, each of Biomet's divisions has experienced global revenue growth in 2011. The company's dental division, Biomet 3i has seen a drop in demand for reconstructive dental implants due to the economic recession, however the company's recent strategic partnerships with 3M ESPE and Cadent are expected to fuel sales.
"Biomet held more than 10% of the markets for dental implants and final abutments across the U.S., Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America in 2011," says Dr. Fung. "Though adversely affected by the global recession, Biomet maintains a competitive global presence in dental devices, based on the company's history in dental implants."
iData's 5-report series: "Biomet Profile: Global Market Share Analysis by Region, SWOT, Product Pipeline & Financials 2012" covers divisions in orthopedic biomaterials, large-joints, small-joints, spine, trauma and dental. Other upcoming company profile series include: Arthrex, Depuy/Synthes, Dentsply, Medtronic, Nobel Biocare, NuVasive, Smith & Nephew, Straumann, Stryker, Wright Medical and Zimmer
