BiologicTx® Announces Launch Of "Knockout Avoids" Within BiologicTx MatchGrid™ 5.0

TOTOWA, N.J., June 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- BiologicTx^® today announced the enhanced release of their Paired Donation Software, BiologicTx MatchGrid™ which includes a brand new feature called Knockout Avoids.  Knockout Avoids provides virtual desensitization by simulating the removal of incompatible antibodies, which can be barriers to transplantation.  Other enhancements include the integration of FileTool allowing greater patient data management, and an overall new design for a friendlier user experience.  BiologicTx MatchGrid 5.0 is being unveiled at the 2016 American Transplant Congress (ATC) in Boston, Massachusetts from June 11^th through 15^th at BiologicTx booth number 312.

Knockout Avoids
The Knockout Avoids feature is a brand new enhancement to BiologicTx MatchGrid.  Knockout Avoids allows the clinician to review patients that are near-miss matches to transplant that may become viable matches with the removal of incompatible antibodies (avoids).  Using Knockout Avoids, the clinician can then simulate the removal of incompatible antibodies via virtual desensitization and show potential new matches with donors as a result.  By simulating desensitization and virtually removing the incompatible antibodies, clinicians can identify more potential donor and recipient pairs, thereby increasing the opportunity for living donor transplant.  All of the data corresponding to Knockout Avoids can be viewed in real-time and can be assessed on a global or individual patient basis. 

Additional new enhancements to BiologicTx MatchGrid include:

• ABOi Feature allowing for virtual match identification across blood types
• New Match Flag that shows in real-time new potential matches as a result of changes to patient data providing immediate feedback for informed patient pool decisions

FileTool Integration
FileTool is a stand-alone application used in conjunction with BiologicTx MatchGrid where patient data is stored and managed.  In previous versions of BiologicTx MatchGrid, the user was made to toggle between the two different software packages for full utilization of MatchGrid.  In MatchGrid 5.0, FileTool has been integrated into the browser to allow for a friendlier user experience.  With the integration, users are now able to more easily import and manually enter patient data, edit or delete and set statuses in patient data, aggregate data more efficiently, and have the option to share either individually selected patients or all personal preferences.  This enhancement provides clinicians with granular control of their patients' data and provides real-time feedback regarding any changes in patient data.
