Biogal-Galed Labs Announces the Commercialization of the PCRun™ Canine Babesia gibsoni Molecular Detection Kit
KIBBUTZ GALED, Israel, 23 May 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Biogal Galed Labs, a global leader of veterinary diagnostic solutions, has announced the commercialization of a new PCRunTM Veterinary Molecular Detection kit, the PCRunTM Canine Babesia gibsoni molecular detection test kit.
This is now in addition to the eight previously commercialized PCRunTM molecular detection test kits for canine Leptospira, Ehrlichia canis, Anaplasma platys, Parvovirus, Babesia canis, Leishmania, Feline Panleukopenia and Feline Mycoplasma haemofelis.
Veterinarians are frustrated with waiting up to one week to receive a PCR result.
With Biogal's PCRunTM, vets can now receive a PCR result within 75 minutes, says Amos Gershony, Biogal's CEO.
Also, the paradigm of a PCR test being performed in a specialized veterinary lab with prolonged turnaround times has now been broken.
Conventional PCR testing procedure requires multiple steps, via expensive, time consuming and complicated devices called thermocyclers.
For a veterinary lab to even set up a PCR lab, they need to spend tens of thousands of dollars.
With PCRun, there is no need for a thermocycler. PCRunTM is flexible, meaning it can be used in a small animal veterinary lab and/or clinic. You simply purchase the kits only.
