BioFuel Makes Announcement Regarding Rights Offering

DENVER, Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- BIOFUEL ENERGY CORP. (NASDAQ:BIOF) (the "Company") today made an announcement relating to the Company's previously announced rights offering.

As previously announced, the subscription rights will expire and have no value if they are not exercised by 5:00 p.m., New York City time, on October 17, 2014.  The subscription rights, which currently trade on NASDAQ under the symbol "BIOFR", will not be subject to a "broker protect period".  Therefore, listing and trading of the subscription rights on NASDAQ will be suspended by NASDAQ as of the close of business on October 14, 2014, which is three days prior to the expiration date, to allow sufficient time for the settlement of any market trades before the subscription rights expire.  No trading of the subscription rights on NASDAQ will be allowed by NASDAQ following October 14, 2014.
