SAN DIEGO, April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Biocom, the association representing the California life science industry, today announced a call for entries for the second annual Life Science Catalyst Awards. In addition, Biocom announced that it is adding a second region from which it is seeking nominees to include Los Angeles County. L.A. will have its own nominees, judges and Catalyst Award winners. The awards are designed to identify accomplished and up-and-coming academics, entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders and business advisers who are making their mark on the life science industry before reaching their 40th birthday.
"The life sciences industry thrives when we have creative ideas flowing, and these ideas often come from young, up and coming leaders," noted Joe Panetta, president and CEO of Biocom. "Expanding our reach to Los Angeles will help emphasize the importance of the next generation of life science leaders to our region as a whole."
Nominations for the award will be accepted until May 31, 2017. Honorees will be highlighted in the cover feature of the Biocom LifeLines magazine and celebrated at a VIP awards reception. The Life Science Catalyst Award will honor standouts from:
