Bio-Process Systems Alliance (BPSA) Awards Scholarships
Honored recipients include North Carolina State, Texas A&M, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
WASHINGTON, Nov. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Bio-Process Systems Alliance (BPSA), the national trade association of the single-use bio-processing industry, is pleased to announce that North Carolina State's Biomanufacturing Training & Education Center (BTEC), Texas A&M's National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing (NCTM), and Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Biomanufacturing Education and Training Center (BETC) are the recipients of scholarships issued through the Jerold Martin Legacy Scholarship Fund.
Established in 2015, the scholarship fund honors retired BPSA Chairman Emeritus Jerry Martin of Pall Corporation, a champion of BPSA and the single-use industry. The scholarship supports the education and training of a skilled single-use technology workforce for the rapidly growing single-use manufacturing sector.
"BPSA will continue to partner with the scholarship award winners in 2016 to address the challenges of educating and sustaining a skilled work force, which includes laboratory workers, bench technicians and corporate leaders as we approach a time when millennials will constitute more than 60 percent of our workforce," said Kevin Ott, Executive Director of BPSA.
