Proffitt began his U-Haul career in August 2001 as assistant general manager at the Sherwood U-Haul Center (742-059). Very soon after, Proffitt was promoted to general manager (GM), holding that position at 742-059 for three years before transferring to U-Haul Company of Arkansas as a reservation manager in October 2005. In March 2007, Proffitt was promoted to area field manager (AFM), after which he went on to become the traffic control manager (TCM) for the marketing company, the position he held until his recent promotion. Today, Proffitt will oversee all operations of UHC of Arkansas, including truck, trailer and storage rentals. His U-Haul experience and proven leadership skills certainly will drive Team 742 to success.
"Over the past nine years, Billy has shown himself to be a great asset to this Company," affirmed District 5 Area District Vice President (ADVP) Garner Carey. "I'm very proud of what Billy has accomplished and look forward to working with him in the future."
Proffitt said he will strive to provide the level of service that U-Haul customers expect and deserve. Proffitt plans on using all available tools to drive revenue and increase profit throughout U-Haul Company of Arkansas. He truly believes in a "never say no" work ethic and will strive to promote that attitude in his team members. Proffitt believes that U-Haul storage is a gem and, as president, he plans on taking the opportunity to make sure that every U-Haul customer knows that storage is available. In assuming his new role, Proffitt is most excited about having the opportunity to get out into the field and work one on one with his team.
"U-Haul Company of Arkansas has a lot of potential, and team members within have a great wealth of knowledge to share," Proffitt stated. "I am looking forward to working with them and I truly believe that, as a team, we can improve peoples' lives with U-Haul products and services."
