HARTLAND, Mich., March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently reining in a promotion to U-Haul Area District Vice President (ADVP), Bill Rains brings more than 17 years of proven leadership skills, knowledge and experience to the position. Excited to assume his new role, Rains notes that now is a time of great growth for U-Haul Company, and he is looking forward to working with such high-quality team members.
Rains recently served as marketing company president (MCP) of U-Haul Company of Central Michigan before his promotion to ADVP. Rains also has served as senior manager for U-Haul Company of Central Michigan as well as general manager (GM), area field manager (AFM) and assistant GM throughout U-Haul Company of Central Indiana.
"District 7 was filled with quality people who clearly understood the value of customer service. In addition, the district was ranked at the top of many key result areas," noted Executive Vice President (EVP) Chuck Hertzler. "I found myself with the task of finding a person who would continue producing such positive results as well as taking customer service to an even greater level. Bill made himself the obvious choice for the ADVP position in District 7. First, as MCP of 752, Bill already was providing leadership to the other MCPs in District 7 through his hard work and results. In addition, Bill built a team of quality people in his marketing company that stands with the best of the best."
Rains is quick to credit his success to previous leaders who already had established a standard of excellence within District 7. A detail-oriented individual, Rains plans on following in his predecessor's footsteps by never losing sight of the basic programs that have put U-Haul in such a position of growth…and through teaching and providing support to all team members throughout the district.
"It is gratifying to me, and gives promise to future U-Haul generations, to know that it is possible to grow within our organization, both personally and professionally," Rains noted. "The strength of U-Haul leadership lies in the intimate knowledge of field operations, which is gained only by actually working in the field, and hearing what the 'do it, get it done' members of our team have to say. This is clearly what sets our organization apart from others," affirmed Rains.
"Be passionate about your work, do the right thing and everything else will take care of itself." – Bill Rains
