WASHINGTON, June 24, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bill Frischling joins U.S. News & World Report as vice president and launch executive for the company's new online real estate venture, president and chief executive officer Bill Holiber announced today. Frischling brings decades of experience developing online products for consumers, most recently serving as senior director of product management at Gannett.
"U.S. News has created unique products that help consumers make more informed life decisions, most notably in the areas of education and health care," Holiber says. "As we expand into real estate – one of life's biggest, most expensive decisions – Bill's experience, energy and entrepreneurial focus will be major assets."
Frischling brings two decades of Internet product experience to U.S. News. He was a founding member of the team that launched Washingtonpost.com. While at AOL Inc., he launched My AOL, AOL Search and AOL's first mobile alerts product. In addition, he co-founded Dyscern, an e-commerce company that was twice featured on the Inc. 500 list before being acquired in 2009.
"U.S. News is the most respected editorial brand in the country when it comes to making informed life decisions," Frischling says. "I look forward to upholding its high editorial standards while expanding the company into real estate and, in the future, other verticals, where we can best serve tens of millions of users every month."
U.S. News' focus on helping consumers make more informed decisions has led to a period of continued growth and investment across its education, health, personal finance and news platforms as well as the addition of travel and automotive franchises. Over the past year, U.S. News expanded its reach globally with the unveiling of the inaugural Best Global Universities and Best Arab Region rankings, and offered patients new resources for identifying top hospitals in their communities with the release of the Best Hospitals for Common Care. This summer, U.S. News will expand its personal finance advice and tools with the debut of Best Credit Cards.
To lead new initiatives, U.S. News recently hired Kim Heneghan, vice president and general manager of money products; Dan Wilmer, vice president and general manager of health care products; and Patrick Peak, director of Web technology.
