Biju Nair joins eRecyclingCorps as Chief Technology Officer
Nair brings 20 years of industry-leading technology innovation to global leader in mobile trade-in solutions
IRVING, Texas, April 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- eRecyclingCorps (eRC), a global leader in wireless device trade-in solutions, today announced the appointment of Biju Nair as its Chief Technology Officer. Nair brings to the position more than 20 years of entrepreneurial leadership including shaping today's wireless software industry.
"This is an important hire for us. Biju's entrepreneurial spirit coupled with his unparalleled technology expertise will enhance eRC's ability to transform the wireless ecosystem," said eRC CEO David Edmondson. "The mobile trade-in market is evolving and growing rapidly. By continuing to attract people like Biju, who are at the wireless software industry's forefront and bring cutting-edge ideas, we will continue to lead the industry."
Nair joins eRC after serving as executive vice president, chief strategy officer at Synchronoss Technologies, Inc., where he lead the strategic and technology vision for the company and managed the investor relations function. Nair also founded and served as chairman and CEO of Sapience Knowledge Systems, Inc., a venture-backed wireless software company (acquired by Synchronoss Technologies in 2011). Previously, Nair held senior positions at Smith Micro Software, PCTEL, Inc., SAFCO Technologies, Inc., and Agilent Technologies, Inc. Nair's innovative work on network analysis tools at SAFCO Technologies, and his groundbreaking work on seamless roaming between wireless technologies at PCTEL have led to widespread adoption of related products in the industry.
"As consumers adapt to mobile innovation at an increasing rate, it's important to consider the long-term strategies required to extend the lifecycle of the mobile device in order to divert millions of used phones away from landfills but more importantly into the hands of the remaining 65% of people on the planet who do not have access to the Internet," Nair said. "I'm excited to work with the management team at eRC to make even greater use of current and future wireless technology to achieve this important goal."
Nair is the author of several key patents in the wireless telecom arena and is frequently invited to speak at leading industry events, such as Mobile World Congress, CTIA, Wireless Influencers Conference and Mobile Future Forward. Nair serves on the boards of numerous venture-backed start-up companies and is a member of Economic Club of Chicago, Leadership Council of CTIA's Wireless Internet Caucus and IEEE Computer Society.
