Big Winners on New Game Show Will Wipe Out Student Loan Debt, Reports Ameritech Financial

ROHNERT PARK, Calif., July 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Student loan debt is such a pervasive crisis that Americans are dealing with it in increasingly creative ways. In recent news, a game show will help contestants pay down their student loan debt. The show is counting on a wide audience of interested viewers since there are more than 44 million borrowers who owe more than $1.5 trillion in student loan debt. The show hopes to award more than 60 contestants about $500,000 in its first 16 episodes. Though it may not be a solution for the overall student loan crisis, it may provide some relief from the seriousness of the challenge, especially for those who are winners. While most simply found the premise clever, others, such as Jezebel, wondered about the appropriateness of using something as serious as the student loan debt crisis in this very non-serious game show motif.

Despite opinions, the show takes the air with a built-in possible viewership of millions of sympathetic audience members, many of whom are enthusiastic to see anyone relieved of their student loan debt stress.
