"Big Ride Across America" 3,300-mile, 48-day Bike Ride Benefiting the American Lung Association Finishes in Washington, D.C. on August 2nd

WHO:

Cathy Rogers, the woman who has been pedaling a Pedego® electric bicycle across the USA, has been riding with the Big Ride Across America cycling team to raise funds for the American Lung Association. Rogers' Pedego electric bike has allowed her to keep up with the team of cyclists, including her husband Paul Rogers, a hard-core cyclist.  The team started in Washington State on June 16, 2014, and will complete their nation-wide ride in Washington, D.C. on August 2.  Rogers is the founder of Aero Tech Designs, a cyclewear company for avid cyclists.

WHAT:

Rogers and the team will celebrate with a Finish Line Ceremony and celebration upon their arrival. The Big Ride Across America team will have pedaled 3,300 miles in 48 days across the United States.  "This has been the ride of a lifetime," says Rogers. 

WHERE:

The event will take place at the U.S. Capitol end of The National Mall, located west of 3rd Street, between Madison and Jefferson, on the gravel walkway.  The closest metro stop is Archives.

WHEN:

The team will arrive at Noon on Saturday, August 2 for the Finish Line Ceremony.

WHY:

The Big Ride Across America benefits the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific. This is the first documented cross-country ride on a Pedego electric bicycle. Rogers is the only member of the team riding a Pedego, and it has allowed her to fulfill a bucket-list dream while keeping pace with the rest of the team, including her husband.
