NASHVILLE, Tenn., July 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Big Machine Label Group has secured naming rights for the Brickyard 400 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, collaborating to create a unique festival environment at the track that will appeal to music and auto racing fans alike. Officially billed as the Brickyard 400 presented by Big Machine Records.com, this partnership compliments Big Machine's most recent venture into the racing world and is the first time a record label has ever presented a nationally-televised race in the 100-year history of The Speedway. In addition to a highly-anticipated race, the event will feature Superstar artists Rascal Flatts and Reba; Platinum sibling trio The Band Perry; hitmaker Justin Moore, Brantley Gilbert, and Thomas Rhett Akins.
"Music and racing are in my DNA and I've been involved in connecting the two for quite some time. With the recent sponsorship of Dan Wheldon's Indy 500 winning effort, the Big Machine Records brand is more recognizable than ever. Now, the Big Machine Label Group is returning to Indy and bringing superstars Rascal Flatts, Reba, The Band Perry, Justin Moore and others to create an amazing racing & music experience for the fans. If you don't have tickets, run, don't walk – this is going to be an incredible day and you want to be there!" said Scott Borchetta, President & CEO of the Big Machine Label Group.
"Big Machine Records represents some of the best artists in country music and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is excited to host several of them on race morning during the Brickyard 400," said Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation President and CEO Jeff Belskus. "Adding this country music festival provides great value to our fans and will make this year's Brickyard 400 a unique and exciting event both on and off the track."
Kicking off the day's festivities, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, Brantley Gilbert and Thomas Rhett Akins will perform special acoustic sets. Rascal Flatts will take the stage for a pre-race mini concert, partially broadcast on ESPN, before singing the National Anthem. Reba will also lend her voice to the traditional "America The Beautiful." Additional Big Machine Label Group artists will also be on hand to meet fans and sign autographs.
