Big Brothers Big Sisters Of Greater Los Angeles To Honor Roy P. Disney, Megan Colligan And Cynthia Bengtson-Budzyn At 2013 Rising Stars Gala

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Guild of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) will honor outstanding members of the Los Angeles community at its annual Rising Stars Gala on October 25, 2013, at The Beverly Hilton Hotel.  Awards recognize individuals who are inspiring and positive role models for young people.  Roy P. Disney, Chairman, CEO and Founder, The Apogee Companies, will be honored with the Walt Disney Man of the Year Award; Megan Colligan, President of Domestic Marketing and Distribution, Paramount Pictures, will receive the Sherry Lansing Award; and Cynthia Bengtson-Budzyn, Co-Founder, Big Sisters of Los Angeles, is recipient of the Trailblazer Award.  Sherry Lansing and Steve Soboroff serve as Honorary Gala Chairs; BBBSLA Guild Members Sandy Bilson and Sarah Purcell, Co-Chair.  The gala will feature an opportunity drawing to win a 2013 Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid courtesy of Toyota of Hollywood, an LA Car GUY Dealership.

Founded in 1986, the Guild is dedicated to promoting awareness and raising financial support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles.  Helmed by President Mary Willard, the Guild is a volunteer group comprised of prominent women and men from the community, which has raised over $10 million to support the life saving programs of BBBSLA. 

The mission of BBBSLA is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring relationships that changes their lives for the better, forever.
