TAMPA, Fla., Aug. 22, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- BICSI, the global association leading the advancement of the information and communications technology (ICT) community, is pleased to announce technology entrepreneur and former Olympic Trial athlete Patrick Sweeney as the Closing Keynote Speaker for the 2018 Fall Conference & Exhibition, to be held in San Antonio, TX on September 9-13.
As a high-performing athlete, technology entrepreneur, cancer survivor and author, Sweeney will share his unique perspective on how to build a life filled with balance, passion and success. His keynote will cover how to "find the adventurer within"; the power of fear as a motivational tool; the secret to peak mental/physical performance and sustained long-term success; and an overview of the neuroscience behind building a successful career.
As a business owner, Sweeney rose to the top of the industry by building and selling global technology companies. After founding and selling ServerVault, a data center company, followed by ODIN Technologies, an RIFD company, he still felt a void in his life. For years, he worked hard building technology companies that would earn him millions. He was working 75-hour weeks, pushing his body to the limits and feeling completely exhausted and wasn't fulfilled.
The day he stepped out of a hospital, having fought for his life on the operating table against a rare case of Leukemia and almost losing it, he had one of those milestone moments and things changed. Today, he is chasing adventure for a living.
The BICSI Fall Conference hosts a myriad of technical-based conference sessions; an expansive Exhibit Hall featuring the industry's leading technology and services providers, and special presentations in the BICSI Theater on new and emerging technologies. Attendees will hear from international industry experts presenting on the latest advancements in the world of ICT. Just a few of the conference presentations include:
- Envisioning Smart and Safe Cities and Buildings Future: 2020 and Beyond
- How Data Centers and Central Offices Co-Exist in the Same Space
- Audio Distribution, Mass Notification and Its Impact on Safety
- Emerging Technologies for Intelligent Building Systems and Interconnectivity of Codes
- PoE Lighting: Unleashing IoT and Opportunity in the ICT Industry
"We are thrilled to have Patrick Sweeney join us as a featured Fall Conference speaker," said BICSI President Jeff Beavers, RCDD, OSP, CFHP. "The benefit gleaned from such a strong, world-renowned presenter is immeasurable and a true value to our conference program. Attendees can take what they learn during the technical sessions and combine it with the principles Patrick will share, to foster a passionate career in ICT with long-term success."
