DALLAS, June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- There is a new name in high-stakes advocacy.
The partners of Bickel & Brewer announced today that the firm has changed its name to Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors. The firm also announced that it is moving its Dallas offices to the top two floors (suite 5900) in Comerica Bank Tower, the building that has been home to the firm's Dallas office since 1990. The firm takes occupancy of the new space June 29.
Founded in 1984, the firm will remain focused on exclusively handling client advocacy in high-stakes situations. Operating at the intersection of law, business and politics, the firm assists clients facing matters that involve substantial financial or business exposure, cutting-edge legal issues, or significant public policy questions.
"Our name and Dallas office address have changed, but the firm remains true to its core principles – handling high-stakes advocacy and intelligent innovation," says William A. Brewer III, a founding partner of the firm. "We are excited by the promise of new opportunities – and taking our firm to the next level."
Regarding the office move, Brewer said the firm explored many office options in Dallas but opted to stay in Comerica Bank Tower. The firm was represented in the search and lease negotiations by Sam Clark and Mike Wyatt of Cushman & Wakefield. The new offices, designed by Staffelbach architecture firm, include state-of-the-art conference facilities and a gym for employees.
"Our search committee explored dozens of options across the Metroplex, but ultimately realized our clients appreciate having us in the Central Business District," Brewer says. "We couldn't resist the temptation to pursue a custom remodel of the top two floors of this building – a signature property of the Dallas skyline."
The firm's much anticipated name change follows last year's departure of former partner John W. Bickel II. Beyond a new name and new offices, the firm has recently promoted several key individuals, enhanced its value-based billing options, and broadened its work in Issues & Crisis Management.
The firm manages client advocacy needs in all forums, including courts, arbitration centers, before regulatory bodies, in legislative halls, and in the news media. Partner James S. Renard explains that the firm is always evolving in its approach and management style.
"Among many changes, we recently announced the promotion of three senior attorneys, Farooq Tayab, Jack Ternan and Jeremy Camp, to partner and expanded the bandwidth of our public relations team," says Renard. "Innovation and progress have always defined the experience at our law firm – something that keeps the practice exciting and always evolving."
In connection with the name change of the firm, the Bickel & Brewer Foundation has become the Brewer Foundation and the Bickel & Brewer Storefront, the firm's community service affiliate, has become the Brewer Storefront.
