Beyond Lucid Technologies Wins 2012 DC to VC Health IT Showcase
Award by Top VC Firm and the Health 2.0 Conference is First for EMS, Public Safety Technology
SAN FRANCISCO, Oct.11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Beyond Lucid Technologies, Inc., the company behind MEDIVIEW™—a mission-critical productivity tool and clinical documentation platform for the ambulance, fire, and industrial emergency response industries—yesterday was named winner of the 2012 DC to VC Competition, organized by Menlo Park-based Morgenthaler Ventures and held here in conjunction with the Health 2.0 conference.
The company's co-founders, Jonathon Feit (CEO) and Christian Witt (President-CTO), released a joint statement: "We are humbled and honored to have been chosen as 'best of breed' from among such a sterling cohort of healthcare-focused applications. We're thrilled that emergency medical service providers are having a long-overdue moment in the sun: the brave medics we serve do their jobs selflessly, yet their expertise is rarely credited. And always in the back of our minds are William and Sarah Witt—Chris's father and sister—who were killed in a car wreck in 2006. Our success is dedicated to their memories."
In announcing the competition's results, Rebecca Lynn, Partner at Morgenthaler Ventures and head of the firm's health IT investing team, said: "The finalists are the future of our industry. In particular, for the Series A category, Beyond Lucid Technologies stood out by presenting a comprehensive emergency-response solution that addresses a real pain point and proving traction with paying clients."
Other finalists included GSI Health, CarePlanners, Starling Health, AgeTak, HeathLoop, and Comprisma, and honorable mention NudgeRX. The competition judges were Rebecca Lynn (Morgenthaler Ventures), Michael Yang (Comcast Ventures), Andy Donner (Physic Ventures), Nina Kjellson (Interwest Partners), Lisa Suennen (Psilos) and Marty Felsenthal (HLM Partners).
