United Way of Metropolitan Chicago giving away concert tickets to local volunteers
CHICAGO, May 5, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- United Way has aligned with Beyoncé's BeyGood initiative to inspire everyone through The Formation World Tour to get involved in building stronger communities. Fans coming together—in activities big and small—will make a difference in their communities throughout the course of the tour. Together, we can positively impact the world in…Good Formation!
Locally, United Way of Metropolitan Chicago is rewarding volunteers with a chance to win 2 tickets to one of Beyoncé's shows at Soldier Field on May 27 and 28. Local residents must complete a verifiable volunteer project in the Chicago region, take a photo and share it on social media mentioning United Way of Metropolitan Chicago's accounts and register online to enroll in the drawing. United Way is giving away 4 pairs of tickets for each show in Chicago. Registration is open until 11:59pm Tuesday, May 17 and full contest details are available at www.LIVEUNITEDChicago.org/beygood.
"United Way believes that mobilizing people to get involved helps to build strong communities," said Wendy DuBoe, President and CEO of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, "The partnership with the BeyGood initiative allows us to encourage volunteerism and reward those who invest their time and talent in Chicago-area neighborhoods, and we are so thankful to Beyoncé for her support."
Beyoncé's #BeyGOOD initiative will encourage volunteerism at local United Way organizations and support the work of United Way of Genesee County, which is continuing to respond to the water crisis in Flint, Michigan. Beyoncé fans can also contribute by donating $10 through Crowdrise. Every $10 donation to United Way will help those affected by the water crisis, and gives fans the opportunity to win VIP tickets for The World Formation Tour. Ten randomly selected winners at each of the North American shows will be upgraded to the best seats in the house.
United Way of Genesee County has been at the forefront of distributing bottled water and filtration systems, as well as providing emergency support services and prevention efforts to those in need. After the short-term needs of Flint residents have been met, United Way of Genesee County will provide the remaining funds to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, which will provide long-term developmental, educational and health support to children and families in the area.
