BOSTON, May 17, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Bevi, a Boston start-up and graduate of Greentown Labs has reached a significant company milestone; as of May 17, 2016 Bevi has saved one million bottles and cans from the landfill!
Bevi was founded in 2013 with the goal of eliminating plastic bottles by producing top-quality custom drinks from the tap. The company makes internet-connected water coolers for offices that provide unlimited still, sparkling, and flavored water on demand.
In 2016 Bevi has expanded from a small Boston start-up, to one that now operates in Boston, New York City, and Silicon Valley.
Sean Grundy, CEO says of this accomplishment: "We started this company with the goal of making reusable bottles more convenient, by making top-quality drinks available from the tap. We wanted to make it easy to get through the day without drinking from a disposable plastic bottle. It's been amazing to see that dream becoming a reality, and to witness environmental impact every single day. Some of our customers used to burn through thousands of plastic water bottles per week, and have replaced refrigerators stocked full of disposable bottles with Bevi units."
To celebrate saving 1 million bottles from the landfill, Bevi employees are planning to spend a day kayaking in the Charles River, cleaning up plastic.
