Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau Announces Its Fifth Annual Chinese New Year with "Happy Chinese New Year - Charming Beijing" on January 31
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau (BHCVB) today announced its fifth annual Chinese New Year celebration, "Happy Chinese New Year – Charming Beijing," a special one-night only event on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at the Saban Theatre. BHCVB has once again partnered with the China International Culture Association (CICA) and Beijing Association for Cultural Exchanges (BACE), with the support of the Chinese Consulate of Los Angeles, to bring the special evening to the City of Beverly Hills. The event, which celebrates the upcoming Year of the Monkey, will feature internationally acclaimed entertainment from Beijing.
"Last year's Chinese New Year event was such a great success and working with the China International Culture Association for the second consecutive year is such an honor," said Julie Wagner, Chief Executive Officer, BHCVB. "Based on the caliber of last year's cultural performances, I know that this year's celebration will be spectacular."
The special program will feature notable acts by renowned performers from Beijing Opera Arts College, including Xu Cui, Gao Tong and Li Dan, as well as acrobat Xing Yunwei from the China National Acrobatic Troupe. A colorful display of Chinese fashion will also be available in the Saban Theatre lobby for attendees to experience.
While the event is free, Ticketmaster processing fees apply. Seats are limited and can be purchased in advance on Ticketmaster.com. A link to the Ticketmaster event page can be found at lovebeverlyhills.com/monkey, beginning today until all seats are filled.
To join the festivities, participating hotels in Beverly Hills, including The Beverly Hilton, Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, L'Ermitage Beverly Hills, Montage Beverly Hills and The Peninsula Beverly Hills, will offer special packages throughout the month of February. Guests who book the hotels' Chinese New Year promotions will enjoy popular Chinese amenities such as in-room hot water kettle with Chinese tea, Chinese newspapers, slippers, Chinese breakfast dining options and more. Chinese guests who stay and shop in Beverly Hills for the New Year will also feel at ease while they navigate the city as most Beverly Hills hotels and stores offer Mandarin-speaking staff on-site and accept Union Pay. The Beverly Hills Visitor Center also provides Chinese visitors with maps and brochures in Mandarin and has part time Mandarin-speaking staff on hand to help answer any questions.
Beverly Hills' annual Chinese New Year celebrations have allowed BHCVB to continue building relationships with the local and international Chinese community and have become a highly anticipated event in Southern California. Previous Chinese New Year festivities include similar productions of Chinese entertainment including traditional Chinese dances, musical performances from popular Chinese artists, martial arts demonstrations, fashion shows with traditional Chinese dress and more.
Sponsors for the fifth annual Chinese New Year event in Beverly Hills, "Happy Chinese New Year – Charming Beijing" include Delta Air Lines, Two Rodeo and I.M. Chait.
